We used to call it the 'Frog'-7. It was a decent entry level communications receiver in it's day. Also one of the first to use the Wadley Loop design. The tuning accuracy was better than some higher priced units. That's because it tuned in 1-Mhz increments or bands across the HF spectrum. The sensitivity was average.

At the time I also had the Yaesu FRG-7. The Sears needed realignment, and after that was done, it was equal in performance to the Yaesu. Appearance-wise, the only difference was that the Sears had a gray painted cabinet, versus the Yaesu's green. All the knobs, VFO dial, Wadley tuning, S -meter, fine tuning, etc was exactly the same.
