Alpina B7S Turbo (E12)

The Alpina B7 S Turbo boasts enough performance to demolish a Ferrari 308 GTB, thanks to a 3.5-litre turbocharged straight six producing 330 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. This three-owner example was exported to Nicolle Japan (the Japanese Alpina agent) shortly after completion in 1982.

Following in the footsteps of the E12-generation Alpina B7 S Turbo, the E24-generation B7 S Turbo Coupé offered even more performance, albeit on the two-door 6 Series platform. The B7S was based on the new and fastest 5 Series, the 535i. That meant a swap to the largest 3.5-liter inline-six. Alpina turned up the boost on the turbos and created a new ignition system. Horsepower increased with the larger power plant, to 326. The engine's torque also improved, jumping from 341 lb-ft on the original B7 to 369 lb-ft on the S.

The Alpina B7 (F01) is the fourth generation of the high-performance BMW 7 Series manufactured by Alpina from 2011 until 2015. Alpina have fitted a KKK (Kühnle, Kopp und Kausch)27 turbocharger with a maximum boost of 0,85 bar. Boost is adjustable between 0,55 bar and 0,85 bar, in terms of power between 250 bhp and 300 bhp. Torque has increased to 462 Nm.

This 1982 BMW E24 coupe was shipped directly to Alpina when new and converted into a B7S Turbo according to the seller. The car was imported to SoCal in 1982 after completion, and has since made its way to Canada. Components and condition are impressive. Find it here on eBay in Canada.
